Ntailan‘s Kultural Art Project

In my art is the desire to be reconnected to natural in a world in which I became uprooted from in search of the meaning of life after I left Kenya . The desire to see the world getting back to natural is my message therefore, the desire to remember the past where the nature was able to care for the trible people compared to realizing how far we have strayed from our natural heritage is a theme to ponder. It is a cry of my heart to keep the natural enviroment the way it was, the feeling we get when we visit museums or the natural tribes, it gives us the feeling to respect the mother nature and to respect the natural tribes and hopefully we are inspired to help to preserve the natural environment.

As a Samburu Maasai, a tribe similar in their origin that share the same ancentry, a people that I have grown to respect dearly for realizing the truths they posess, culture has always been important to me up until I got swallowed up by materialism that leaves one with an empty void. The tribes people live closely to their animals and their land which is everything to them, the problem that arises, is the danger capitalism poses to such cultures. Is there a way to continue to preserve these Kulture so that it does not get swallowed up by the greed of capitalism ?

In my art I present the Kultural environment in an Eutopic manner, and yet there are many arising problems to take into consideration. A child that grew up in the natural environment, surrounded by elefants and other wild animals, it helps me to feel safe in keeping the dream a reality through the canvas even though I know in many cases and at least for many parts of the northern Kenya, the natural environment is failing the Samburu and the other tribes there who have exhausted the capacity of the natural reserves.
I know for fact, that in many areas in northern kenya, trees must be planted and wires barbed to keep the animals and the people apart, one thing is clear, children require to be send to school so that they may go back and help to preserve the cultural heritage by disregarding the wrong cultural practices like FGM that destroy the sexuality of women and girls yet mentaining to good aspects of the culture and sharing with the world.

In a real world verses a dream world, it is a question of mordenism verses cultural heritage.

How can the two coexist and compliment each other like a husband and a wife.
